Radio 2001: the albums whose songs were on the radio in 2001

In 2001 the radio played Gorillaz's Clint Eastwood, Alicia Keys's Fallin', Destiny's Child's Survivor and Bootylicious, Jennifer Lopez's Love Don't Cost a Thing, Train's Drops of Jupiter, Nickelback's How You Remind Me and Staind's It's Been Awhile. Usher, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and Ja Rule had the American charts, the Strokes and the White Stripes brought the guitars back, and in Britain Hear'Say's Pure and Simple, Blue's All Rise, Travis's Sing and So Solid Crew's 21 Seconds were played beside Afroman's Because I Got High.

Beyond Britain and America it was the year of Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out of My Head, Shakira's Whenever, Wherever, Daft Punk's One More Time, Enrique Iglesias's Hero, Safri Duo's Played-A-Live, Rammstein's Sonne and the No Angels' Daylight in Your Eyes, of Manu Chao's Me gustas tú, Noir Désir's Le vent nous portera, Tiziano Ferro's Xdono, Elisa's Luce, Estopa, Lasgo's Something, Röyksopp's Eple and HIM, and in Latin America of Diego Torres's Color esperanza, Alejandro Fernández's Tantita pena, Carlos Vives's Déjame entrar and Ivete Sangalo's Festa.

The list has 47 albums that came out in 2001, chosen from memory of what was played, not from a chart. It leaves out the hits of 2001 whose albums came out the year before, Shaggy's It Wasn't Me, Lifehouse's Hanging by a Moment, Linkin Park's In the End, Dido's Thank You and Nelly Furtado's I'm Like a Bird among them. About 42 hours of music, 5 days of a few albums each.
