Rock beside the other genres on the lists, each band 100 covers drawn by the same lot and in the same order of hues. A genre with fewer covers has no band. An album with genres of two families, rock and pop for one, can be in both bands.

How the colours are found
Each stripe is one colour of a cover, not the average of it: the average of most covers is a brown. Tidal gives every cover a colour, one of the cover's own colours made dark so that white letters can stand on it. The page looks on the cover for the colour of that hue and takes it as light as it is on the cover. Where the cover has nothing of that hue, or Tidal gives no colour, it takes the cover's largest strong colour, and on a cover without one its largest colour, often a black, a grey or a white.
The names are rough: brown is a red or an orange that is dark and not strong, teal lies between green and blue. An album counts as rock when one of its genres, as the lists have them, is rock, indie, alternative, psychedelia, prog or another of its kind. A decade with fewer than thirty covers, or a genre with fewer than a hundred, is left out of the bands set side by side, and only albums whose cover the site has and looked at are on the page.
